Good day!

The employees of the Town are busy working on numerous projects for you!
Here is a short update on where things stand...

Beautification
The Town recently formed a Beautification Committee.  The group is working on ideas and projects to make the town more vibrant and attractive.  Watch for changes this summer to include new flower baskets hanging from our streetlights, as well as banners and Veteran memorial flags.  They are also working on other exciting projects that are still being developed.

Community Center - A contractor has been secured and the roof is scheduled for replacement around March of 2024!

Henry Ward Park
The old playground has been removed and new equipment is on its way for summer enjoyment!

Lighting
Our Street Department is currently working on repairing and rehabilitating the decorative streetlights around town.  As there are over 150 in total this project will take most of the year to complete.

Library
The Town is working with the Turkey Creek Library Board to donate ground on Dolan Drive for the construction of a new library.  Excavations are scheduled for January to remove an old storage tank buried in the ground.  This work is being paid for via a grant that is administered by MACOG.

Municipal Parking Lots
The reconstruction of the Pearl Street Municipal Parking Lot is moving forward.  A&Z Engineering has been secured and preliminary plans are being drafted.  Once approved the project will be let for bid sometime in May with construction to begin soon after, with completion slated for early September.

Water Towers
The Water Tower at Huntington St and High Street is being scheduled to be repainted sometime this spring.
The Water Tower next to the High School will also be receiving a thorough cleaning this spring as well!

* Other projects are currently in the planning stages and updates will be forthcoming!
